Duboce Park

Mike and Michelangelo hired on Modern Craft to do a full remodel of their 1886 Victorian single family home in Duboce Park. The clients’ desire for the remodel was to renovate the building with more modern features and design, while preserving some of the original Victorian architecture.

To begin, the team would need to reconfigure the space to produce an open kitchen and living area, and to design an additional floor level. A modern staircase was created featuring steel and white oak. The elegant living room featured Schonbek chandeliers, a fireplace designed with reclaimed wood from the original Victorian era fireplace, custom cabinetry, and plaster crown molding designed to replicate the original molding. Natural lighting was achieved by installing skylights on the new floor and solar operable skylight windows and blinds.

The master suite included a spacious bedroom, and a bathroom with a floating bamboo vanity, limestone flooring, steam shower and quartz countertops. The suite opened to a private rooftop terrance with a deck, cedar siding, glass handrail and a gas fire pit.
